sytycd LOVE
finally got down to watching sytycd (so you think you can dance) season 3. which i only just got from qian yi, although its alr into season 4 now. heh.. i've only gotten through one eps (eps 10) and alr am so high on it!! this entry's gonna be boring if you don't watch sytycd but i'm still gonna rave abt it even if nobody cares!
i didn't like some of the choreos and some of the seriously obiang and budget-looking costumes fr season 1 and 2. but the choreos and costumes in season 3 and 4 are WHOO! the songs that the choreographers chose are fabulous too! i love the dan karaty hiphop (danny and anya) and wade robson jazz routine (hok and jamie) and in eps 10! LOVE wade robson's GENIUS choreos!

i loved the season 2 batch of contestants- they all seem like such great ppl! i love that the contestants fr every season seem to sincerely love each other and working with each other! the whole show is SO non-bitchy. the judges are qt positive in their comments and give constructive advice. some of the judges were qt nasty during the auditons tho. some of those auditioning truly deserve it. they're CRAP but yet are so convinced that they're good. but i think its mean to tell ppl that they'll NEVER be a good dancer. but anyhoo, i'm sure there must have been many spats throughout the show, i'm really glad that the show's producers chose not to emphasise those, unlike every single other reality tv show. cos its a fact that ppl do bond by dancing together.
i'm in love with half the guys in season 3! my top 3 are danny (hot contemp/classical dancer), pasha (hot latin dancer) and neil (hot contemp dancer). :D like nigel (the show's producer + 1x judge) said, they dance like DUDES- strong and in control. which is VVVVV impt when doing partner dances.
love cat deeley (the host) too! she's a DARLING! she's tall and gorgeous and confident, but she's really warm and friendly and real. i think its really cute that sometimes she'll hold hands with the dancers when the judges are commenting. can tell that the dancers, the judges and the audience all love her too!
sorry i couldnt say anything comforting to you at the wake.. but am really glad to see you chatting and laughing with us. i found what you said to us really inspiring. i think you're SO strong. (qianyi & ling said so too!)
although can tell that many parts of you are have crumbled, but the main pillars of Ying-ness are still v much intact. :) i know how close you are to your family.. it would have been so easy and totally irresponsible to just totally collapse into depression but you made the right choice not to.
life will be different to say the least, and yet life goes on, ya? i just hope and pray for you that time will make it all easier to accept, and make it easier to remember the happy and forget the sad (like ur dad said). nobody will expect you to bounce straight back to being the exact same cheerful lil joy of a Ying you used to be, but don't let this EVER break your wonderful spirit!
i'll be here for you!!! if you want someone to cry with, to talk to, to EMO with, to chi dance/lyrical jazz/hiphop/dancesport etc with, to hold your hand, to pat your head, to hug etc etc, i'll be here for you! you've got a solid safety net in your friends and family anytime you feel that the pain is too much and you need to collapse a bit. :)

been receiving news abt qt a few unfortunate (to euphemise it a bit) events fr friends this hols. i'm not talking abt teen-emo-drama-angsty 'tragedy' but deaths and illnesses and break ups. i'm totally totally grateful that i myself am totally fine, better than fine sometimes even. but its scary cos they're so close to me, it hits close to my own heart too. and cos at my age, i guess i'm expected to have the capacity to handle this kind of sadness. but i don't really feel like i can! i still feel like i'm abt 15, and pretending to be 20 in a sch play (anw this metaphor's nt original.. stole it from sth the guy lead in the movie 'before sunrise'. heh).
but the way my friends have been handling things really amaze me. they taught me what strength and maturity means. don't want to go into specifics cos i don't think its my place to go around announcing other ppl's unhappy business on the www, but to helen, qian, ying and sea ming (if any of you even read my blog. haha..): your spirit is INSPRING! love you!
anw.. here's the choreo we've been learning for lyrical jazz at o school! dancing is the ever-zai Wang Da (in top to toe grey) and our teacher ryan (in neon pink).

i just watched step up 2! (yea i know i'm outdated)
like all dance movies, its idealistic as hell but nevertheless, IT KILLED DIRTY DANCING II AND TOOK OVER THE PLACE OF MY ALL-TIME FAVOURITE DANCE MOVIE! INCREDIBLE!
plus, i want briana evigan's flat abs! she was in linkin park's numb video too! LUCKY BASTARD!! i think i was half-thinking of her character in the video when i thought up one of the ghosts for UOC fright night. haha..
